5 RELAXED VALENTINE’S DATE NIGHT IDEAS

Valentine’s Day is only a few days away and I thought I would share a few good ideas to have a relaxed date night at home.

5 RELAXED VALENTINE'S DATE NIGHT IDEAS

Part of a healthy home (and homemaking for that matter) is having a good relationship with your significant other. If the two of you are out of sync, the house will also feel out of sync. Valentine’s day is just the perfect time to sync up again and do a little bit more effort in the romance department!

But what if you are not in the mood to do the effort but still want the reward? Or are on a really tight budget. Well then, I saved you some time and I am sharing five relaxed date night ideas for Valentine’s day!

1 PIZZA AND WINE

There is nothing quite like a good pizza and a glass of wine. And If you are on a tight budget you can make homemade pizza! Even better if you can get your husband in on the action to make the pizza.

Making pizza at home is super easy and doesn’t take that long to make. Or order some pizza and get it delivered to your doorstep! Even more relaxed!

Enjoy your pizza and glass of wine on the couch and Netflix and chill a bit! But in the spirit of Valentine’s day, make it a romantic movie!

2 LIVING ROOM PICNIC OR STARGAZING PICNIC

A picnic is really a relaxing activity to do and doesn’t really have to be fancy. Get both of your favorite snacks and get the picnic blanket and make it cozy! Get a few through pillows to make it extra comfortable.

If you live in the southern hemisphere, as I do, then there is a really good chance you will have a nice summer night this Valentine’s Day. So if you have space you can take your picnic outside and do some stargazing! Now that is romantic!!

Or even better! Combine pizza and wine with the stargazing picnic!

3 BUBBLE BATH

If you have a good size tub that would fit you both and you are not in a water restriction area this is such an awesome idea.

Get all of your favorite bath salts or bubble bath out and enjoy each other’s company in the bath over a glass of wine.

If you are not a bath person you could also shower together. Make it a nice shower though and put in some shower melts to give it a spa-like experience. Here is a recipe for shower melts that I am dying to try out!

Maybe level up the evening with some massages afterward!

4 REMINISCE OVER YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC

All couples have songs that make you think of each other. Put on your favorite songs (don’t have to be romantic songs) and just listen to it.

For married couples, you can put on some of your favorite songs from your wedding. And if you are up to it, you can slow dance around your living room.

It is nice to sometimes slow down and be near each other without doing much talking – or being distracted by technology.

5 PLAY VIDEO GAMES TOGETHER

If your significant other like playing video games, maybe get a game that you can play together. Just make sure it is a game that will not upset the whole evening. Guys can get upset if the game doesn’t do as he commands! 😉

So that is my five low-key Valentine’s date night ideas. Personally, I don’t think that Valentine’s day has to be expensive and you don’t have to pull out all the stops if you don’t want to (or can’t afford to). I think Valentine’s day is there to remind you to just connect with your significant other.

With our busy lives and constantly being on the run, we start to live past each other. So make it a priority this Valentine’s day to really connect with your loved one, no matter what you do for Valentine’s day!

I would love to hear your thoughts on these ideas that I’ve shared, and maybe you can add to these low-key date night ideas!
